Every engagement produces one document: the heir tracing report. This is a complete sample, produced by our case system from an illustrative estate.

What each section shows
Engagement. The reference, the client, the service, when the case was opened and when the report was approved, and whether an extended search for relatives was authorised.
Decedent. The details the case was opened on. A Social Security number is shown only by its last four digits.
Related persons. Everyone we located and verified, one entry each: their relationship, current address and contact details, and the investigator’s notes on how identity and relationship were confirmed. Heirs found beyond the client’s list are marked as additional.
Persons not verified. Anyone asked about but not confirmed, or listed only for context, kept apart from the verified findings and labelled as details supplied by the client.
